Our Projects

Since our establishment in 1999, we have been at the forefront of heavy haulage and transportation of abnormal loads in Ireland. As pioneers in the industry, we've had the privilege of serving some of Ireland's largest companies, earning their trust through our unwavering commitment to excellence.

Our portfolio showcases the range of industries we serve including: Power Generation, Wind Energy, Aviation, Rail and more.

Heavy Machinery Installation

Machinery installation for our client Hitachi in Summerhill Bus Station. We delivered and installed a seven ton electrical transformer and three ton electrical panels making use of:

  • Our Tractor Unit and Curtainside trailer
  • Our PK150002 Knuckleboom crane
  • Our 10 ton Forklift
  • Our Load moving skates
  • 4 of our hydraulic Toe Jacks

30 Ton Passenger Airbridge Removal

Equipment Used – 2 Crane Equipped Tractor Units & 4 Axle Low Load Trailers

GKT’s scope of work began with the dismantling of associated equipment. Secondly, the tandem lifting of the 30 ton passenger airbridge / jetbridge unit from its foundation to transport equipment. Once loaded, the airbridge unit was transported to a storage compound within Dublin Airport. Upon arrival at the compound, it was self-offloaded from transport equipment.

Heavy lift - 45ton train lift

Our team turned around this 45 ton and 23 meter long train for Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail in Inchicore. The wagon had to be lifted, mounted on one of our trucks and then skilfully reversed back into position.

International Heavy Haulage of Transformer

Transformer in an enclosure collected in Cavan on it's way to Budapest, Hungary. It was loaded on a wafer deck trailer, due to travel height restrictions from Rotterdam to Budapest.

Machinery Installation in a restricted space

Machinery installation of a 5,5 ton electrical switchboard for NeoDyne. The 5.8m long load was skillfully manoeuvered into position utilising GKT's eMotion robotic load skating equipment at a site which had extreme space restrictions

Wind Turbine Blade Transport

The scale of wind-turbine components combined with the remote and sometimes elevated location of the wind farms can prove to be a demanding logistical operation. This abnormal load transport operation involved transporting Wind Turbine Blades on a fully extended trailer. GKT has transported Wind Turbine Blades several times since.

Transporting 103ton Transformer

103ton transformer loaded at Dublin Port Company. By Gary Keville Transport The transformer was delivered to Profile Park, Co. Dublin on Behalf of GAMA Project Logistics

Aircraft Simulator Delivery and Installation

Gary Keville Transport transported and installed a fixed base flight simulator at Ryanair HQ in Swords, Co. Dublin. Recently, GKT assisted with the installation of flight simulators at the new 50 million euro Airline Flight Academy in Santry, Dublin.

Power Container Delivery

Eight 36-ton power containers delivered from MTL to Straffan, Kildare. These abnormal loads were 12m in length, 3.7m wide and 4.2m high.

A 150-ton DAF XF and a 250-ton Scania, both with Faymonville extendable wafer-deck trailers, were utilised to transport two loads per night over a period of four nights.

Heavy lift and Removal of a 26 ton LP Hood

Our work with this abnormal load included transporting a 26 ton LP Hood to trailer and offloading it to load stools in order to facilitate maintenance and repairs.

Transporting Cie 6111 To Downpatrick Railway Museum

CIE 6111 is a driving trailer (the former railcar 2624). This class of carriage was decommissioned in the ’80s. However, Downpatrick Railway Museum bought it with a view to restoring it sometime. One heavy haulage truck was used to pull a 4 axle extended trailer. Two heavy haulage tractor units, each equipped with a Palfinger crane were used to tandem lift the carriage off the trailer and place it on the track.
